2 Men, Woman Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on South Riverside Avenue
Rialto, Calif. (June 30, 2021) – Salvador Lopez, 20, of Fontana, died Monday morning after a car he was riding in collided head-on with a box truck in Rialto.
The deadly crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 28 in the 2500 block of South Riverside Avenue. Lashon Gardner, 33, of Barstow, and Guadalupe Noriega, 26, also died in the collision.
Police report Guadalupe Noriega was driving a 2020 Nissan Altima southbound on Riverside Avenue at high speed towards Santa Ana Avenue. She allegedly made an abrupt turn before clipping the rear end of a Dodge Ram truck.
Next, the Nissan Altima veered into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming box truck.

Three of the four people in the Nissan suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
However, a third passenger in the Nissan Altima survived. The 21-year-old Fontana woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators seek to find out what led up to the collision. Witnesses are urged to contact police at (909) 421-4981.
