CANOGA PARK, California (May 12, 2016) — Salvador Placencia, 73, was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Wednesday night in the 8700 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the Los Angles Police Department.
The man who died had been pushing a shopping cart and was found at about 10 p.m. Wednesday evening where Topanga Canyon intersects with Parthenia Street. He was found dead upon the arrival of police.
Police officials have determined that the victim was struck by a vehicle which had been heading northbound along Topanga.
The driver fled the scene of the crash and police have no information at this time about the suspect or the vehicle.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division is heading the investigation and are offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who has information.
