1 Killed, 2 Injured After Car Accident at Arrow Highway and San Bernardino Road Tuesday
Upland, CA (October 12, 2020) – A fatal traffic collision occurred in the area of Arrow Highway and San Bernardino Road Tuesday, the Fontana Herald News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed 30-year-old Sammy Arvizu was driving a vehicle in Upland around 1:30 a.m. Due to the alleged intoxication of Arvizu, he reportedly allowed the vehicle to veer off the roadway and crash into a curb and light pole. The force from the impact reportedly ripped off the rear passenger door.
When emergency teams arrived at the scene, they found two passengers ejected from the wreckage. Our sources confirmed a female passenger sadly died as a result of the incident. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities added two other passengers suffered serious injuries in the accident. Responding medics rushed the victims to a hospital in critical condition.
DUI Suspect Sammy Arvizu Arrested After Deadly Car Crash in Upland
Following an investigation, officials determined Arvizu was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Police then took the suspect into custody and booked him at West Valley Detention Center.
