Major Injury Collision on Saint Charles Street Sunday
San Andreas, CA (January 31, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of State Route 49 and 12.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a vehicle drifted off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the guardrail. CHP logged the incident on January 30, Sunday.
According to the accident dispatch, the car plowed through the barrier along SR-12, also known as Saint Charles Street. The vehicle then plunged down the embankment and came to a rest approximately 60 feet down the roadway.
Rescue teams arrived at the crash site shortly after 7:49 p.m. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the medical evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck. A helicopter transported the patient to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Detectives continue to investigate at this time the precise circumstances that led to the car crash at State Route 49 and 12 in San Andreas.
