SAN BERNARDINO, California (January 25, 2015) — A 38-year-old San Bernardino man was killed and another critically injured early Saturday morning in a rollover car accident at the intersection of Highland and Golden avenues, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Anthony Sevilla, 38, was allegedly driving a yellow 2005 Ford Focus hatchback eastbound on Highland Avenue at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and overturned before hitting a metal pole about 2:05 a.m., according to the San Bernardino Sun.
Sevilla died of his injuries at the scene, but his passenger was transported by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center where the adult male is being treated for major injuries. Police described the injured man as being in his 30s or 40s.
The San Bernardino Police Department is heading up an investigation into the crash and will issue a report with their findings when it is completed.
“My condolences go out to the family of this man as they cope with his sudden loss and try to piece together what happened,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Also my prayers go out to the man who was injured in hopes of a full recovery.”
