SAN BERNARDINO, California (June 28, 2015) – A black BMW collided with a semi-tractor-trailer truck Sunday night on the westbound Interstate 210 Freeway, spinning the BMW around to face the wrong way in the right lane. The tractor-trailer pulled safely onto the right shoulder.
The collision was reported as a hit-and-run and occurred at 5:56 p.m. just past the on-ramp from Del Rosa Avenue North, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol. First Choice Tow arrived to haul away the BMW about 6:34 p.m.
California Highway Patrol officers radioed that a pedestrian had approached them on the 210 Freeway. The pedestrian, a man in his twenties wearing a green tank top and camouflage shorts, asked for a ride home. This man had no relationship with anyone involved in the collision.
Police are searching area hospitals for a Hispanic man. He is wanted for questioning in relation to the collision. The man is approximately 5’8”, wearing dark pants and either a white or black shirt. He has a head wound. If you have information, please contact the California Highway Patrol.
