CAJON VALLEY, California (March 14, 2016) — A man was killed early Friday morning in a head-on collision involving three motorists on State Route Highway 138, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The fatal crash took place at 12:21 a.m.near Kruse Road. The man who died was driving a 1969 Ford Mustang in an eastbound direction on Highway 138 when he was struck head-on by a driver in a Saturn who allegedly crossed over the double yellow lines in an attempt to pass a semi-tractor trailer truck. The Saturn struck the Mustang, pushing it into the middle lanes where the vehicle was struck a second time by an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup truck. The impact of these collisions caused the man major injuries and he died at the scene about 1:15 a.m.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability.
