SAN BERNARDINO, California (October 14, 2015) — Darlena Santiago, 63, died in the hospital Tuesday of injuries sustained in a hit-and-run car crash back on Oct. 2 at the intersection of Waterman Avenue and Norman Road, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash involved major injuries and the victim was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment, but despite efforts of doctors it was reported that she died of those injuries yesterday.
Police are still searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver in a pickup truck who struck Darlena Santiago and left her critically injured.
“This is a tragedy for the family of this woman as they cope with not only her death, but the fact that this driver remains at large,” said Attorney James Johnson. “My condolences go out to them at this difficult time.”
