SAN BERNARDINO, California (July 17, 2015) — An elderly woman walking on the westbound Interstate 210 Freeway, just west of Highland Avenue was struck and killed by a driver early Friday morning, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The woman was reported walking towards traffic lanes at 4:52 a.m. She was described as wearing flower pants and a purple shirt as she walked across the freeway the 911 caller told authorities they almost hit her. A white Toyota pickup truck was on the right shoulder of the freeway.
At some point, the woman was struck by a driver and died at the scene of the crash. Police closed down the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes to traffic to conduct an investigation.
