As per CHP, about 9:40 p.m. a car was seen traveling at a high speed, south of Highway 138, prior to the incident.
In an article by Daily Press, the coroner said 35-year-old Jeffery Rachal, of Victorville, was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed in the No. 1 lane when he made an unsafe turning movement to the left.
Rachal collided with a black Chevrolet 3500 Dually pickup truck which was parked in the center median.
The 35-year-old was extricated from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision remains under investigation.
