Fatal Highway 259 Car Accident near E Street
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2018) — At least one person has died in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on the eastbound Highway 259, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported to 911 at 6:31 a.m. this morning. Multiple vehicles including a grey BMW, a school bus, a tan Nissan Maxima, a white work truck and a black car were at the scene. It’s unknown at this time how many were involved in the crash or stopped to help.
A man in a tan shirt and black pants carrying a backpack was seen walking down the off ramp, but police didn’t know if this was a driver attempting to leave or not. Paramedics responded and there was at least one confirmed fatality. It’s unknown if there were also injuries involved.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine fault.

Police are reviewing the evidence and any witness statements to determine fault. It’s unknown at this time what led to this horrible crash, nor whether or not drugs or alcohol played a factor. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of the vehicles, skid marks, and gouge marks.
