Fatality Crash on I-15 Freeway
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (June 27, 2023) — A fatal San Bernardino crash on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway happened Monday morning just north of Mathews Ranch Road.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 3:50 a.m. on June 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
The drivers of a white Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck, a white Toyota Highlander SUV and a third vehicle were involved. They collided in the middle lanes when one motorist slammed into the back of another vehicle on the northbound I-15. The second vehicle became engulfed in flames during the collision.
Police responded and issued a SigAlert around 4:10 a.m. due to all lanes being closed due to the crash. Also, paramedics responded and located at least one person with fatal injuries. A man from the Highlander suffered a broken shoulder and told 911 operators he had two dogs in his vehicle.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed all three vehicles for evidence.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal 15 Freeway crash in San Bernardino.
