San Bernardino Fatal Wrong-way Crash State Route 259 210 Freeway

1 Killed, 1 Injured in San Bernardino Crash on State Route 259 and 210 Freeway

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (September 19, 2021) – A wrong-way crash killed one person and injured another on State Route 259 and the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino.

According to the KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 2 a.m.

The incident began when a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the transition in San Bernardino. The wrong-way driver then slammed head-on with another car.

Police said a third motorist approached and collided with the two vehicles. The cars crashed on the northbound State Route 259 interchange with the 210 Freeway.

Wrong-Way Driver Hits Another Car

All three vehicles obtained major damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.

A second party ended up hurt following the wreck. Medical personnel soon took the patient to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The names of the deceased and wounded people have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced the northbound State Route 259 and the 210 Freeway transition to shut down following the wreck.

The fatal San Bernardino crash is still under investigation.
