SAN BERNARDINO, California (July 14, 2014) – A 13-year-old girl was killed Friday night in a traffic accident on West Rialto and Arrowhead avenues, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Samantha Taraby, 13, of San Bernardino, was riding in a 1996 Acura sedan that was traveling eastbound on West Rialto Avenue when it was hit by the driver of a 2002 Kia that was heading northbound on North Arrowhead Avenue.
San Bernardino Fire Department emergency personnel rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle crash, but the girl died at the scene. The report did not indicate whether anyone else was injured in the crash.
The fatal crash is under investigation by the San Bernardino Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team.
“My condolences go out to the family of Samantha Taraby as they cope with tragedy and try to find answers as to how this could have happened,” said San Bernardino Accident Attorney James Johnson.
