CHP Officers Injured in Collision Near University Parkway
San Bernardino, CA (April 23, 2023) – Two California Highway Patrol officers suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 215 Freeway early Sunday, April 23.
SUV Hits Patrol Vehicle in San Bernardino
The ABC7 and KTLA5 News reported a vehicle crashed into a patrol car near the University Parkway exit in San Bernardino. Preliminary investigation revealed officers were on I-215 investigating an earlier three-vehicle collision. While parked along the freeway, an SUV slammed into the rear of the patrol vehicle occupied by two officers.
Shortly after 4:30 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the two CHP deputies. According to the article published online, rescue teams transported the injured officers to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation. The names of the patients, and their conditions at this time have not been revealed thus far.
