San Bernardino Police Officer Injured in Crash Near Rancho and Rialto Avenues
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (July 4, 2021) – A San Bernardino police officer was hospitalized after a crash near Rancho and Rialto avenues.
According to an article published by The Sun, the accident took place on Saturday night. Officials reported the collision shortly after 9 p.m.
The incident happened on July 3 when a San Bernardino city police officer was outside his car, working on a traffic accident in the area.
For an unknown reason, another vehicle approached and struck the on-duty police officer. The driver hit him near the intersection of Rancho and Rialto avenues.

Paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the police officer wounded as a result of the crash. He sustained less serious injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel then took the victim to a hospital for treatment. Authorities did not disclose his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, the report added that the officers made an arrest at the site. Police forced the intersection of Rancho and Rialto avenues to shut down for a time following the crash.
The cause of the San Bernardino collision is still under investigation.
