San Clemente crash 5 Freeway
1 Seriously Injured in San Clemente Crash on 5 Freeway Near Avenida Rosa
SAN CLEMENTE, CA (September 4, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the 5 Freeway in San Clemente.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:45 pm.
CHP said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in San Clemente. They crashed on the southbound side of the 5 Freeway, just south of Avenida Rosa.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the cars as a blue Kia Cadenza, a white Ford Fusion and a gray Nissan van. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
One person ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
CHP did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at the time. Meanwhile, officers shut down the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway near Avenida following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the San Clemente crash.
