SAN DIEGO: 2-Vehicle Crash SR-56 West, Camino Del Sur

SAN DIEGO, Calif., (August 26, 2026) — A crash involving two vehicles on Tuesday afternoon resulted in major injuries on State Route 56 West, near Camino Del Sur in San Diego.
The incident occurred on August 25th at approximately 1:53 PM and involved a red Audi coupe and a black Honda Civic, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both vehicles reportedly veered off the road and collided with an ice plant on the right shoulder, causing significant damage. The crash also resulted in a damaged light pole and electrical box, with exposed wires posing additional hazards at the scene.
Emergency responders, including CHP officers and fire department personnel, arrived promptly to secure the area and provide medical assistance. The slow lane was temporarily blocked by fire services to manage the situation and protect the injured parties.
The identities and conditions of the individuals involved have not been disclosed at this time. Emergency medical teams transported the injured parties to a local hospital for further treatment.
