SAN DIEGO, California (July 25, 2016) — Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a collision involving a driver who allegedly ran through a red traffic light and struck another driver at Scripps Creek Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place about 3:18 p.m. at the intersection with Spring Canyon Road. Police stated that a 34-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Spring Canyon Road in her Mercedes coupe when she allegedly ran through a red light. The Mercedes struck a Subaru sedan with a 19-year-old male driver and a 21-year-old female passenger.
The woman driving the Mercedes suffered a broken ankle and the man and woman in the Subaru both suffered minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation by police.
