Bicyclist, 69, Hurt in Crash with Wrong-way Driver on Fawn Avenue
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 6, 2020) — A 69-year-old man riding a bicycle suffered serious injuries Friday when he was hit by a car on Fawn Avenue in Bay Ho.
The cyclist was struck by a car about 11:54 a.m. near Hidalgo Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department report.
A 77-year-old man driving a silver Toyota Yaris on the wrong side of the road hit the cyclist. Paramedics responded and transported the injured bicycle rider to a hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw and several facial fractures.
The injuries were not life-threatening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by police.
