San Diego Car Accident 15 Freeway, Ted Williams Parkway (SR-56)
Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-15 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2024) — A multi-vehicle crash happened Monday morning on the southbound Interstate 15 Freeway, just south of State Route 56/Ted Williams Parkway.
The initial collision occurred in the No. 1 lane at around 6:43 a.m. between a Nissan Sentra sedan, a white Tesla and a red sedan, the California Highway Patrol report said. The drivers involved exited their vehicles and were standing in the fast lane.
Next, CHP officials reported other vehicles including a white Ford or Lincoln, a Toyota and a Mazda collided in the same area. It’s unknown if these vehicles were in a separate crash or were part of the first collision. The vehicles were blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the freeway.
Paramedics from a local fire department responded and treated one person from the Nissan with complaints of neck pain, but it’s unknown if they were taken to a hospital.
Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the Mazda as it was not drivable.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the San Diego car accident on the 15 Freeway.
