Major Injury Collision at Escondido and Mission Valley Freeway Tuesday
San Diego, CA (September 14, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of Interstate 8 and 5 Tuesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a pickup truck rolled over. According to the dispatch, the incident took place on the transition road from eastbound 8 Freeway onto southbound 5 Freeway. Officials said the pickup truck veered off the roadway, and ended up hanging off the freeway ramp.

Shortly after 8:10 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders found one person withe major trauma. Paramedics rendered aid to the victim at the scene, then transferred them to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Additional details on the patient have not been revealed thus far.
The precise circumstances that led to the car accident at Mission Valley (8) Freeway and Escondido (5) Freeway remained under investigation. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine exactly what happened here and why.
