4-Vehicle Car Accident Interstate 5
San Diego, Calif. (July 13, 2023) — A car accident occurred Thursday afternoon on the Interstate 5 Freeway near the connection to the State Route 56 bypass in San Diego.
The collision occurred about 12:08 p.m. on July 13, in San Diego County according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
First, a driver in a white SUV ran into a parked white BMW. The white SUV was occupied by a parent and their child. Then after the white SUV ran into the parked BMW, it continued traveling and hit more vehicles. Both accidents resulted in four vehicles blocking all lanes on the Interstate 5 in San Diego. One vehicle went off the road, and another vehicle was reported sideways in the fast lane of the highway.
Paramedics along with the fire department responded to help those hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, multiple tow trucks were requested to move the damaged vehicles and remove debris from the collision on Interstate 5 in San Diego.
Investigators are working on the case to determine who is at fault.
