2 Injured in San Diego Head-On Crash on San Pasqual Valley Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 7, 2021) – A car crash on San Pasqual Valley Road injured two people near a zoo in San Diego.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident occurred on Friday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 5 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2015 Ford Fiesta was going east on San Pasqual Valley Road in San Diego, toward Ramona. At the same time, a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling west.
For an unknown reason, the Ford spun out of control and crossed into the westbound lane. The Fiesta then struck the Volkswagen head-on, four miles east of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Multi-Car Collision Near Zoo Safari Park
Police said the impact forced both cars to spin. In the process, a 2010 Nissan Cube behind the Ford collided with its driver door.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found two drivers involved who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
The 68-year-old woman driving the Fiesta sustained serious head and back injuries. The motorist in the Jetta, a 28-year-old man, complained of pain following the wreck.
Medical personnel rushed the woman to the hospital for treatment. The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, the operator of the Nissan did not sustain any wound in the accident. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the San Diego crash.
