Multi-Vehicle Crash in San Diego on the I-5 Freeway
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2022) — A multi-vehicle San Diego crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened Wednesday morning near transition to the eastbound Interstate 8 Freeway.
The San Diego collision occurred in the southbound lanes about 5:56 a.m. on Sept. 7th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A dark-colored SUV overturned and landed on its roof in a collision with a station wagon, police said. The SUV was blocking two lanes of the freeway and the station wagon wound up on the right shoulder. Meanwhile, a motorcycle and a blue 4-door sedan also collided minutes later.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help those injured, but it’s unknown if anyone was taken to a hospital.
Meanwhile, investigators with the CHP are working to determine fault for the collision.
