SAN DIEGO: Dayonte Broughton Hit by Drunk Driver on 47th StreetSAN DIEGO, California — According to an article by San Diego Union-Tribune, a 16-year-old bicyclist identified as Dayonte Broughton suffered injuries after being hit by an alleged drunk driver on Imperial Avenue near South 47th Street.

On Christmas Eve at approximately 6:40 p.m., 61-year-old Donnell Evans was driving his 2004 Chevy sedan eastbound on Imperial when he struck Broughton who had been cycling northbound in the 47th crosswalk.

Responding medics transported the teen to a hospital for treatment of severe head injuries.

San Diego police arrested Evans on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
