Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle Near Front Street Wednesday
San Diego, CA (February 24, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident on Interstate 5 in downtown San Diego, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
Our sources indicated a vehicle struck a male party in the southbound side of I-5. The horrible crash took place near the Front Street exit to the Civic Center.
Shortly after 9:05 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the site. Responding medical personnel found the pedestrian lying near the center divider of the freeway. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim, but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.

Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
After the catastrophic incident, officers shut down the southbound lanes of the freeway to give way to the investigation process. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led to the deadly pedestrian accident on Interstate 5 in San Diego.
