Vehicle Strikes, Kills Man Between Sea World and Clairemont Drive
San Diego, CA (July 9, 2022) – One died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway in the area between Sea World and Clairemont Drive.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a Hyundai sedan struck an individual walking in northbound lanes of the freeway. Earlier reports indicated the horrible crash took place between the Mission Bay and Bay Park neighborhoods in San Diego.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 in San Diego
Emergency crews arrived at the accident scene shortly after 2 a.m. First responders found the victim lying in the roadway. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old San Diego man driving the Hyundai appeared unharmed after the collision. The motorist stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly accident that occurred on Interstate 5 near Mission Bay.
