Woman, 41, Seriously Injured in San Diego DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on San Pasqual Valley
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 28, 2021) – A DUI hit-and-run crash on San Pasqual Valley Road seriously injured a woman near the San Diego Zoo.
The incident happened on April 27 when a Nissan Versa was going west on San Pasqual Valley Road. Its driver tried to make a U-turn in a driveway for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Police said in the process, the Nissan collided with an oncoming Hyundai Sonata. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.

They found the 41-year-old woman driving the Hyundai suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took her to a hospital for treatment of a broken arm.
Officials did not release the name of the victim and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 30-year-old man operating the Versa abandoned the car following the wreck.
The suspect ran off through an open service gate to the park but was later located and arrested. He sustained a fractured ankle from the impact.
Authorities arrested him and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They ultimately charged him with felony hit-and-run and DUI.
The San Diego DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
