1 Killed, 1 Injured in San Diego Crash on State Route 94 Near Interstate 5
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 31, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured another on State Route 94 near the Interstate 5 in San Diego.
According to the NBC San Diego and FOX 5 News, the tragic wreck took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the accident on March 31 shortly after 4 a.m.
The incident happened when a Ford F-250 was traveling at a high rate of speed west on State Route 94 near the Interstate 5 in San Diego.
Speeding Driver Hits Another Car
The pickup truck then slammed into a Honda Accord near the northbound I-5. The California Highway Patrol said the Ford truck rolled over due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the speeding driver dead at the scene. The motorist in the Accord ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of State Route 94 to shut down near the Interstate 5 following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Diego crash is still under investigation.
