San Diego crash Mission Gorge
1 Killed, 1 Injured in San Diego Car Crash on Mission Gorge Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 8, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured another on Mission Gorge Road in the Allied Gardens area of San Diego.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4 p.m.
The incident happened when a BMW and a Tesla were going east on Mission Gorge Road in Allied Gardens. At the same time, a Toyota SUV was traveling west.
San Diego police said the Toyota then made a left turn into a driveway. In the process, the BMW collided with the SUV in the 7500 block of the road.
Tesla Involved in Wreck
The Toyota rolled over upon impact while the Tesla then became involved in the accident. The 82-year-old man driving the SUV sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed him to a hospital, where he died. The driver of the BMW, a 34-year-old man, survived the incident with minor injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police added that the motorist in the Tesla ended up unharmed.
Officers forced a stretch of Mission Gorge Road to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Diego crash is still under investigation.
