Woman, 81, Killed in San Marcos Hit-and-run Crash

 SAN DIEGO: Fatal Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Descanso Avenue (Jan. 17) SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2020) — An 81-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early Friday in the 3500 block of Descanso Avenue in San Marcos.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department was alerted to the crash about 2 a.m. after someone saw her lying in the roadway on the eastbound side of the street, according to San Diego 10 News. The woman was found to be unresponsive and paramedics performed CPR on her, but she died at the scene.

Police determined that a driver in a black vehicle traveling eastbound on Descanso Avenue struck the woman near S. Rancho Santa Fe Road.

Police found a shoe and a bag of fast food near the victim that may have belonged to her.

Witnesses are urged to call the San Diego sheriff’s department at 760-510-5048.
