Woman Seriously Injured in Head-on Crash on Campanile Drive
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 21, 2019) — A 67-year-old woman was hospitalized following a head-on crash Wednesday morning between her car and a pickup truck on Campanile Drive.
The crash was reported at 4:30 a.m. at 5000 Campanile Drive in the College West community, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The woman was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound when for unknown reasons her vehicle veered across the double yellow line and collided head-on with a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old man.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured woman to a local hospital where she was treated for an open fractured to her right ankle and a fractured with dislocation to her left ankle. The report did not indicate whether or not the man was injured in the crash.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is heading up the investigation into the crash.
