San Diego, CA (August 14, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol group reported a multi-vehicle collision that took place in the southbound side of I-5 Freeway Saturday afternoon. Officials identified the cars involved in the wreck as a white Toyota Avalon, a white Honda Pilot, and a dark-colored Jeep. At this time, the make and model of the other automobiles possible involved in the accident remained unknown.

Shortly after 3:51 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Responding paramedics attended to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the injured party, and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

The CHP log mentioned one driver fled the scene following the incident. At this time, detectives continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
