At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near San Diego (5) Freeway Thursday
San Diego, CA (December 21, 2021) – On December 16, a suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 805 near San Diego (5) Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a silver Toyota Prius slammed into the center divider along northbound I-805, also known as Jacob Dekema Freeway. Initial records indicated the Toyota first collided with another vehicle before crashing into the median.
Shortly after 3:47 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately checked the conditions of all the occupants in the Toyota Prius. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed one person complained of pain and suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Officials mentioned the second car involved in the accident evaded. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine personal details on he hit-and-run suspect.
