At Least 1 Hurt in Traffic Collision on Jacob Dekema Freeway, August 1
San Diego, CA (August 3, 2021) – On August 1, Sunday, a suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 805 at Nobel Drive.

The California Highway Patrol group reported a white Toyota Avanza crashed into the center divider along northbound Interstate 805, also known as Jacob Dekema Freeway. Preliminary investigation revealed a second vehicle triggered the Avanza to veer off the traffic lanes; and careen towards the center median. The second driver apparently fled the scene following the accident.
Shortly after 1:04 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location and rendered aid to all possible victims. Our sources later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Pending confirmation, the name of the victim and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation on the incident is underway.
