Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Hit-and-run Crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2018) — A 32-year-old motorcyclist was injured Sunday in a hit-and-run collision at 1900 Main Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff.
The crash took place just before 7 p.m. in the Barrio Logan neighborhood.
The motorcyclist was riding north on Main Street when a silver BMW turned left in front of the bike as it exited a parking lot. The rider was unable to avoid colliding with the vehicle. Meanwhile, the BMW fled the scene without stopping to help the victim.
Paramedics responded to help the injured rider who suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic Division responded to the scene and are investigating the accident.
San Diego County Crash Investigation
The investigation into this collision is underway. Police are searching for the suspect’s vehicle which had significant damage on its driver side and left the scene heading southbound on Main Street. It could be possible that surveillance video exists that could help police with their investigation.
