SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 17, 2023) — A hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened early Thursday at Sixth Avenue and J Street in San Diego.
The collision occurred just after 6 a.m. on Feb. 16th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
A driver in a gray Jeep Cherokee struck a 27-year-old man at the Gaslamp Quarter intersection, the report said.
The man was reportedly crossing the street when the oncoming Jeep struck him and kept driving without stopping to help the victim.
Authorities are searching for the suspect who fled the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and transported the injured man to a hospital for further treatment. The report did not provide specific details about his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
