SAN DIEGO, California (October 18, 2016) — A hit-and-run driver in a white box truck struck at four or five motorists on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway before exiting and taking off, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash was reported to CHP officers about 6:53 a.m. this morning in the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes.
A motorcyclist was also involved in the crash and one of the vehicles hit was facing the wrong way.
The San Diego Police Department also responded to the scene to help those involved and called for paramedics to help two people who suffered minor injuries in the crash. They are searching for the suspect vehicle believed to have significant front-end damage.
The crash remains under investigation and police are searching for the suspect driver who was last seen parked on the right shoulder at Imperial and 21st Street.
