Woman Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle at Harbor Drive and Fifth Ave
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 7, 2019) — A woman in her 30s was seriously injured in a downtown San Diego when she was struck by a vehicle while jogging at Harbor Drive and Fifth Avenue.
The San Diego Union Tribune reported the crash took place about 8:30 a.m. Police closed down Harbor Drive for roughly an hour or more.
The woman was reportedly in a crosswalk at Harbor and Fifth Avenue when a Mercedes-Benz hit her, police said.
Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to a hospital with serious but unspecified injuries.Police say the driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Police investigating the crash are trying to determine who had the right-of-way at the time of the collision. They are hoping to locate witnesses or surveillance footage in the area.
