Man Seriously Injured in Car v. Scooter Accident
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 12, 2018) — A man riding a scooter was struck by a car Monday night in a collision at 1100 Washington Street in the Hillcrest neighborhood, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The collision took place about 8:33 p.m. last night. Police say the victim was riding his scooter eastbound on Washington Street near the gore point. A woman driving a Toyota Prius existed the northbound state route 163 onto Washington Street and struck him. The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, but is expected to survive. There were no other injuries in the crash.
The incident is under investigation by police to determine liability.

It is unknown at this time who is going to be held responsible for this man’s injuries, but typically drivers are supposed to yield the right-of-way to other vehicles when they exit the freeway. We do not know if there were any traffic violations by either motorist at this time.
