SAN DIEGO (September 23, 2016)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman seriously injured Thursday evening, September 22nd, in a pedestrian accident in Little Italy neighborhood district sadly died of her injuries Tuesday, September 27th.
The victim identified as Meifeng Trainham, 59, had been crossing Date Street near Kettner Boulevard before being hit at precisely 8:10 p.m.
Trainham was struck by a 55-year-old man driving a Toyota Prius, the report added.
Police officials indicated that Trainham sustained a head injury and a fractured pelvis as she was transported to UCSD Medical Center, where she died of her injuries on Tuesday.
It was confirmed that the man did indeed pull over and stopped his vehicle as the incident occurred. He was cooperative with authorities as they questioned him
At this time, the San Diego Police Department is handling the investigation.
