Major Injury Collision Near Interstate 5 Freeway Friday
San Diego, CA (January 14, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 163, also known as Cabrillo Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a man riding a motorcycle crashed into the back of a Honda sedan. Officials said the rear-end collision took place in the southbound side of SR-163 near Interstate 5.

Due to the force from the impact, the motorcyclist ended up ejected and thrown onto the roadway. Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 6:56 p.m. Paramedics rendered aid to the rider, and all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the accident resulted in major trauma. Person information on the victim have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several factors surrounding the traffic crash on State Route 163 in San Diego.
