Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in San Diego Crash on Interstate 5 at Imperial
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 19, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 and Imperial Avenue in San Diego.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:18 p.m.
CHP said a black Ford 4-door sedan and the motorcycle rider collided in San Diego. For an unknown reason, the two crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 at the Imperial Avenue off-ramp.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the rider hurt on the right hand shoulder as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Ford ended up hurt following the wreck. Officers forced the southbound Interstate 5 at Imperial to shut down after the incident.
The cause of the San Diego crash is still under investigation.
