SAN DIEGO (March 17, 2017)- According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a 21-year-old motorcyclist of Spring Valley sadly died in a collision Thursday evening on Highway 94 in the Encanto neighborhood area.
The collision occurred at some time around 11:15 p.m. when the 12-year-old unidentified rider lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the center divider causing him to be thrown from his bike as it burst into flames.
Moments later, three additional vehicles collided due to the debris including two pickup trucks and a sedan.
Per the article, the 21-year-old man sadly did not survive the collision while at least one other motorist suffered injuries in the wreck.
The driver of the sedan was arrested at the scene for suspicion of being under the influence.
Meanwhile, Highway 94 remains shut down for several hours until finally reopening around 4:30 a.m.
