Pedestrian Critically Injured in San Diego Crash at College Avenue and Lindo Paseo
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 4, 2023) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a crash at College Avenue and Lindo Paseo in San Diego.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union Tribune, the accident took place late Tuesday night. Officers reported the collision on May 2 shortly after 11:10 p.m.
The incident happened when a 20-year-old woman was walking eastbound on College Avenue at Linda Paseo Drive in the city. For an unknown reason, a 2014 Toyota Prius struck her.
Woman Hit by Car
Police said the car hit the pedestrian in a crosswalk near the San Diego State University. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel then rushed her to a hospital and listed her in critical but stable condition.
The report did not release the name of the wounded patient. Meanwhile, police did not mention if the 26-year-old man driving the Toyota stopped or stayed at the site following the incident.
Officers forced the area of College and Lindo to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the San Diego pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
