Pedestrian Seriously Injured in San Diego Crash at Orange Avenue and 42nd Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 16, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Orange Avenue and 42nd Street in San Diego.
According to an article published by the FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision at around 6 p.m.
The incident happened on September 15 when a male pedestrian was walking down the 4100 block of Orange Avenue in San Diego.
Police said he came to the three-way intersection at 42nd Street and safely left the curb to cross 42nd Street. He continued walking eastbound when at the same time, a Dodge Ram made a left turn.
Man, 59, Hit by Car
The pickup truck then hit the 59-year-old man in the middle of the road. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in the Teralta West neighborhood.
Medical personnel found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They soon took him to a hospital for treatment of an open fracture to his left arm.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old man driving the Dodge stopped after hitting the victim.
He stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities. Officers forced the area of Orange Avenue and 42nd Street to shut down following the crash.
The cause of the San Diego pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
