Woman, 77, Severely Injured in San Diego Crash on University Avenue Friday
SAN DIEGO (September 20, 2019) – An elderly pedestrian was severely injured after a traffic accident along University Avenue Friday morning.
Police said the collision took place at about 7:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of University Avenue near the City Heights and Fox Canyon areas.
The incident began when a 77-year-old woman was walking south across University Avenue near 48th Street, just east of Euclid Avenue.

At the same time, a 2015 Lexus headed west was changing lanes. The male driver then crested the slight incline on University Avenue when the side of his car hit the victim.
According to reports by San Diego Union-Tribune and 10 ABC News, paramedics responded to the scene and found the pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries due to the crash.
She was rushed to a hospital with a brain bleed and a dislocated pelvis. Her name and condition at the moment were not immediately available.
Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating what exactly caused the incident.
