1 Hospitalized After Collision Near Mira Mesa Boulevard
San Diego, CA (May 28, 2023) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 15, also known as Escondido Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported two or more vehicles collided in the northbound side of the freeway near Mira Mesa Boulevard. Officials said the crash left one person lying in the number four lane of I-15 in San Diego. It remained unclear whether the victim was hit by one of the cars, or an occupant ejected during the collision.

Shortly after 8:34 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately attended to the male party down in the roadway, and bleeding from his head. Medical personnel rendered first aid to the victim then transported him to Scripps Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the patient have not been discussed thus far.
Investigators assigned to handle the case stayed at the scene the whole evening. The continue to gather information to determine the precise cause of the major traffic accident that happened on Escondido (15) Freeway in San Diego.
