Pedestrian Seriously Injured in San Diego DUI Crash at 11th Avenue and G Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a DUI crash at 11th Avenue and G Street in San Diego.
According to an article published by The San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 5:20 p.m.
The incident happened a Chevrolet Captiva made a left turn from eastbound G Street onto 11th Avenue in San Diego. At the same time, a male pedestrian was in a crosswalk.
Police said the car then struck the man in his 30s in the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found him down on the ground.

The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took him to a hospital for treatment of a compound fracture to his right leg.
Officials did not release the name of the patient and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, police determined that the driver of the Chevrolet was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victim.
The 46-year-old man driving the Captiva complained of pain following the accident. Officers soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
Authorities forced the area of 11th Avenue and G Street to close for hours after the collision. The San Diego pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
